Baidu Launches AI Video Generator, Enhances Search Features

China’s Baidu has unveiled an AI-driven video generator for businesses and a significant upgrade to its search engine. The new video generation model, called MuseSteamer, can produce videos up to 10 seconds long and is available in three versions: Turbo, Pro, and Lite.

Over the past year, major tech companies like OpenAI have expanded their offerings beyond chatbots to include text-to-video and image-to-video generators. In China, competitors such as ByteDance, Tencent, and Alibaba have also launched similar models. While many rival products, including OpenAI’s Sora, target consumers with subscription plans, Baidu’s MuseSteamer is exclusively for business users, with no consumer app available yet.

The search engine overhaul includes a redesigned search box that can handle longer queries and supports voice and image-based searches. Baidu’s AI technology ensures more targeted content is displayed, enhancing user experience.

Baidu has faced increasing competition as AI-based chatbots like ByteDance’s Doubao and Tencent’s Yuanbao gain popularity. The company’s latest moves aim to solidify its position in the rapidly evolving AI market.
