AI Initiative Enhances Student Performance in Tonk

An AI-based initiative, 'Padhai with AI', has significantly improved the academic performance of students in Rajasthan's Tonk district. Launched to assist students with challenging subjects, particularly mathematics, the initiative has seen remarkable success in its first academic session, with 95% of secondary students passing with flying colours.

Addressing Challenges in Mathematics

The program was introduced by Tonk Collector Saumya Jha after identifying fear and anxiety about mathematics as a significant barrier to student success. The initiative uses a dedicated web portal that combines technology with education, offering remedial practices, drills, and personalized learning.

Detailed Action Plan

A detailed action plan was prepared for a three-month academic session, targeting 10th class students and setting clear goals for 2025. A total of 351 government schools were selected for the initiative. The web portal provides a comprehensive learning experience, helping students solve textbook problems and practice new questions of a similar pattern.

Impressive Results

After the results were declared in May, it was evident that the percentage of students who passed in Tonk was higher than the state average. There was also a 5% increase in the number of students passing in the first division. Ms. Jha noted, “An impressive jump was witnessed in the performance in mathematics, which was earlier a dreaded subject for children.”
